Jouw uitdaging

As a Compliance Specialist, you will be joining Fricodan. Fricodan is a leading importer and distributor of authentic Asian food and non-food products in Europe. From Málaga, we represent a wide range of top Asian brands. You will be responsible for managing international shipments and ensuring compliance with customs, international trade, and food safety regulations. You ensure that all processes within the supply chain adhere to legal requirements and act as a key link between internal teams and external stakeholders.

Additionally, you manage and translate product- and supplier-related master data in systems such as GS1 and other customer-focused data management systems. You optimize processes, mitigate risks, and advise colleagues and external parties through expert reporting.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage international shipments and ensure compliance with customs, trade, and food safety regulations

  • Classify goods according to the Harmonized System (HS) and manage customs documentation (e.g., certificates of origin, import licenses, customs declarations)

  • Advise on tariff and non-tariff trade barriers

  • Monitor compliance with international trade regulations, sanctions, and export controls

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the headquarters in the Netherlands, internal teams, the country manager in Málaga, and external parties such as customs authorities, food safety agencies, logistics partners, and customer databases

  • Support departments such as logistics, procurement, and sales with trade and customs-related questions

  • Identify and mitigate risks in customs and trade processes

  • Prepare reports and KPIs and support internal and external audits

  • Provide training on customs and trade compliance to employees

  • Ensure that relevant product and supplier data is always up-to-date in systems such as GS1 and other databases

Wat neem je mee?

  • You are available full-time

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Trade, Logistics, Law, or Business Administration)

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in customs, international trade, or trade compliance

  • In-depth knowledge of customs legislation, international trade regulations, and export controls

  • Experience with import/export documentation and customs clearance processes

  • Experience in food safety is a plus

  • Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken)

  • Experience with ERP systems and customs software (e.g., SAP)

  • Familiarity with HS codes, free trade agreements, and duty optimization strategies
